IIM gives its Bhubaneswar Chapter Rs 20L

The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) has given its Bhubaneswar Chapter Rs 20 lakh to support metallurgy education among Odisha students.

At a recent occasion, director of IMMT Bhubaneswar and chairman of the IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter, AK Chaubey, received a check for Rs 20 lakh from Bibhu Mishra, convenor of the 2023 committee for the IIM-ATM (annual technical conference) and adviser to Hindalco Industries Ltd.

In order to develop metallurgy and investigate advances in the area of metal production, the funds would be used to organize seminars and symposiums for working technical experts, research researchers, and college and university students. According to administrators, the IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter now has more than 200 members.

Present were Essar Minmet, SS Mohanty, the head of the IIM-ATM 2023 committee, co-chairs Ramanuj Narayan and Sadashiv Samantray, and Ajit Panigrahi, secretary of the IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter.
