In a bribery case, the CBI court files charges against the Chandigarh ASI

Charges have been brought against an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Chandigarh Police by a CBI court in this city. The officer was detained on February 9 of this year after it was claimed that she demanded a bribe from a Mani Majra resident and her son.

Based on the woman’s accusation, a Central Bureau of Investigations team has opened an investigation against ASI Balkar Singh. According to the complaint, Balkar tried to gain an unfair advantage over her in order to support her son in a legal matter. The accused’s attorney, Terminder Singh, said that his client had been unfairly charged in the case.

Public prosecutor Narender Singh, however, made the case for filing charges against the defendant. Following the hearing of arguments, the accused was charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act by the court.
