In Amritsar, Bikram Majithia pokes fun at Bhagwant Mann

Senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia attacked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today in Amritsar, asking the public to question the CM about why he was unable to protect the interests of the farmers and had allowed the Haryana government to treat them rough. The CM would be visiting the area to solicit votes.

He also claimed that the constituency’s economy had been impacted by the Central Government’s closure of commerce over the Attari-Wagah border.

“Consider the wishes of the people of this constituency and allot former minister Anil Joshi the party ticket for the forthcoming parliamentary elections from this seat,” Majithia pleaded with the party high command.

Joshi and Majithia’s names were previously floated as SAD candidates.

Although the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has not yet officially announced, Anil Joshi may be the party’s candidate from Amritsar in the Lok Sabha election.

When Majithia, who was speaking with Joshi at a sizable public assembly in Amritsar North, inquired from the dais about the workers’ preference for the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat, the crowd quickly focused on Joshi’s name.

“Joshi is the most qualified candidate to represent this constituency’s residents and has long served as a symbol of intergroup cooperation. In addition, I urge the high leadership to declare him the party’s Amritsar candidate,” he said.

In his appeal to the electorate to back Joshi’s candidacy, he said that the other contenders were either unable to represent Amritsar in Parliament or did not even know the names of the cities and villages that make up this constituency.
