A migrant worker was detained after murdering a four-year-old via rape

On Monday afternoon, the police said that they had apprehended a 32-year-old migrant worker who had reportedly fled after raping and murdering a four-year-old child at the APS International Factory colony.

Within a few hours of filing a complaint against him, Ahmedgarh Sadar police apprehended the suspect late on that fatal day.

It is believed that the youngster died after being tossed from the roof of an industrial shed into the roadway, however the precise cause of death will be determined upon receiving the autopsy results.

The suspect was identified as Bhanu, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi area who works at the APS International Factory, also known locally as the woolen mill.

According to Malerkotla SSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, Bhanu was taken into custody late on Monday night by police officers working under the direction of DSP Amritpal Singh Bhatti. When he was attempting to leave the region, he was previously charged under provisions of the POCSO Act and the IPC.

The authorities were notified that on Monday, a little child vanished from a colony inside the boundaries of APS International Factory. The police then launched a concerted effort to find the missing toddler.

Khakh stated, “The suspect was trying to flee the region late on Monday night when he was identified and later nabbed by officials, led by Sadar SHO Surinder Singh and SHO (City) Sukhpal Kaur, on the basis of evidence collected by our police team.” He also stated that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the arrest.

According to the preliminary inquiry, he had attempted to destroy the evidence by placing the victim in a jute bag before raping her while intoxicated and throwing her from the tall manufacturing building’s roof.

Only once the autopsy report is received will it be determined whether or not the victim was alive when she was thrown from the roof.

Khakh thanked the investigating team for their work in solving the horrific crime and stated that if the suspect had not been arrested right away, there might have been a disruption to law and order because the colony’s residents had come together to protest and demanded that the suspect be turned over to them following his arrest.

However, the individual was apprehended the same day and admitted to perpetrating the act while intoxicated thanks to the concerted efforts of Khakh’s teams.

He stated that in order to bring the matter to a quick and final resolution, the police team had been instructed to submit the case in court after annexing indisputable evidence.
