In the 2022 assembly elections, Nadda wants the Uttarakhand BJP to concentrate on lost districts

The leaders of Uttarakhand should concentrate more on the 23 assembly seats that the BJP lost in the 2022 state elections, according to BJP president JP Nadda. Nadda gave the state leadership and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructions to communicate with booth level employees in each of the 23 seats on a regular basis.

In the Uttarakhand assembly elections of 2022, the BJP won 47 seats, conceding 19 to the Congress and 2 to the BSP and independents. Now that the BJP has put former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat in the running for the Haridwar parliamentary seat, the party’s national leadership wants the state organization to concentrate on these seats.

Virendra Rawat, the son of former chief minister Harish Rawat, is a Congress contender and rival of Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Nadda instructed party chairman Mahendra Bhatt to keep an eye on booth activity in all lost assembly constituencies and have direct conversations with teams there during a private meeting with top state officials on Thursday. In addition, he requested that Bhatt regularly engage with booth employees and speak at rallies in these areas.

Nadda instructed the party office bearers of the BJP, in particular the current MPs and MLAs in the surrounding seats, to engage with the constituents in these assembly districts. He instructed them to create booth-level programs and make sure party representatives spoke with each and every voter in the state.

The fact that the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, personally conducted many roadshows, public gatherings, and conversations with voters in over half of the 23 designated assembly districts is noteworthy. Dhami revealed this to Nadda at the discussion, stating that since the start of his intense election campaign on March 21, he had visited almost thirty assembly constituencies.

Before the campaign concludes, the chief minister has been directed by the BJP national president to cover as many lost seats as possible in his continuing public speeches around the state. Nadda personally visited with Haridwar Lok Sabha seat booth workers on Friday to get their opinions on the party’s campaign in the constituency, paying particular attention to eight of the 14 assembly constituencies where the party was defeated in state elections.

The BJP lost six assembly seats in Nainital, five in Almora, and two in each of the parliamentary constituencies of Tehri and Pauri Garhwal, apart from eight in Haridwar.

On April 19, elections will be held in the first phase for all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand: Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora (SC), Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar, and Haridwar.
