Indians are cautioned from visiting Dubai due to flooding

After the city experienced unusually high rainfall this week, the Indian embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recommended Indian travelers arriving at or passing through Dubai International Airport on Friday to postpone non-essential travel until operations return to normal. The UAE is working to recover from this week’s record-breaking rainfall, which left Dubai and the surrounding territories severely flooded.

Although the UAE authorities were working around the clock to ensure that operations returned to normal, the embassy stated in the advisory that passengers should only arrive at the airport “after” receiving final confirmation from the individual airlines regarding the flight schedule and departure time.

The notice said that the number of incoming flights to Dubai International Airport has been temporarily curtailed due to disruptions caused by unusual weather conditions earlier this week in the United Arab Emirates.

The busiest international airport in the world, Dubai International Airport, aimed to resume regular operations in less than a day.

Rescheduling non-essential travel until operations return to normal is suggested for inbound Indian travelers arriving at or passing through Dubai International Airport, according to the statement.
