Israel takes issue with Sweden and Canada resuming support for the UN agency in Gaza

The UN Relief Workers Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) in Gaza received cash again, a move that drew harsh criticism from the governments of Canada and Sweden. Following Israel’s revelation of evidence linking several UNWRA employees to Hamas terrorism and some of them even participating in the October 7 massacre, the two countries ceased providing such money.

According to a statement released by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the action is “a serious mistake that constitutes tacit agreement and encouragement on the part of the governments of Canada and Sweden to continue to ignore the involvement of UNRWA employees in terrorist activity.”

“The return of funding to UNRWA will not change the fact that the agency is part of the problem and will not be part of the solution in the Gaza Strip,” it said. Israel demands that the governments of Canada and Sweden cease their financial support of an organization that has hundreds of Hamas terrorists among its members.
