Jalandhar youngster detained with an unauthorized handgun

A young man was taken into custody by the authorities, who also found a handgun manufactured in the country on him.

Aman Luthra, a resident of Gulab Devi Road, Rattan Nagar, Jalandhar, has been identified as the suspect.

Giving specifics, the police said that they received information about an illegal guns smuggling ring operating in the city. Following their investigation, the cops set up a trap. While on patrol at Madhuban School, a police team saw a young person making his way to Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar.

“After a tip, the police pulled over the young person to do a check. A handgun manufactured in the country and a cartridge were found in his possession by the police during the search, they said.

At Basti Bawa Khel police station, a complaint was filed against the suspect in accordance with Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act.

According to police sources, the situation is still being investigated.
