Priyanka Gandhi accuses a possible fraud in the distribution of satellite spectrum and criticizes the BJP over the new telecom bill

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, questioned the government on Saturday over the recently enacted Telecom Bill in Parliament, raising concerns about potential hundreds of crores fraud involving the distribution of satellite broadband spectrum.

The general secretary of the Congress said that the Narendra Modi administration has “flouted” the Supreme Court’s norms and regulations, which have been in effect since 2012. Why did this get done? She enquired.

Priyanka Gandhi asked the administration several questions in a Hindi post on X.

“Has there been a fraud involving the distribution of satellite broadband spectrum worth hundreds of crores? In light of the suspension of 143 opposition MPs, why was the new Telecom Bill passed? “Is there a connection here?” she enquired.

Why was the bidding rule abandoned in the current telecom bill when it came to the distribution of internet spectrum from satellites? Gandhi Priyanka enquired.

“Removing the rule of bidding in allotments prevented other companies from participating in the bidding – how much loss did this cause to the national exchequer?” She enquired.

Who benefited the most and first from the new Telecom Bill’s passage? She enquired.

“What is the contribution of the Rs 150 crore donation received by BJP from the beneficiary corporate company in the big racket of ‘pay donation and take business’ that has been exposed in the name of electoral bonds?” she inquired.

Recognize the timeline, Priyanka Gandhi said and cited that the BJP received a contribution of 150 crore, that 143 MPs were sacked, that a new telecom law was approved, and that spectrum was subsequently provided to donor organizations without a public bidding process.

“When will Modi ji tell the country, is this a coincidence (sanyog) or an experiment (prayog),” she said.

The measure, which aims to provide the government temporary authority over telecom services in the sake of national security and to establish a non-auction method for allocating satellite spectrum, was enacted by the Parliament in December of last year.
