K’taka: A woman takes her own life, complaining about police harassment, vowing to get justice after her passing

An incidence involving a housewife purportedly taking her own life under the jurisdiction of Channapatna Town Police Station in Ramanagara district on Monday has come to light.

Madhuri, a 31-year-old lady from Channapatna city’s Kote Layout, is recognized as the dead. Madhuri took sleeping medications on Saturday and passed away on Sunday at the hospital. She had said in the video that if the cops continued to torment and harass her, she would terminate her life.

It is said that the police did not submit Madhuri’s case when she went to the Channapatna Rural police station to report a money disagreement. The victim said that when she was in the police station, the officers humiliated her.

Police reportedly sent her back after informing her that the victim was the subject of several infidelity cases. Before taking her own life, the lady had said in a video that she would at least get justice after she died. Ramanagara SP has interacted with the family members and relatives in this respect.

The family has leveled complaints against Shobha, the inspector for Channapatna Town, and other employees. The police force has not yet released an official comment on the incident.
