Leading opposition figures at the INDIA bloc rally poke fun at the BJP and show support for Kejriwal and Soren

Leaders of the INDI Alliance’s opposition parties united in a spectacular display of strength and solidarity at the ‘Save Democracy’ demonstration held at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan to offer support for their imprisoned counterparts.

The leaders of the Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, the RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, the Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Sharad Pawar, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, the CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, the CPI general secretary D Raja, the PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, the NC’s Farooq Abdullah, and the chief minister of Jharkhand, Champai Soren, were among the leaders in attendance.

At the demonstration were Sunita Kejriwal, the incarcerated wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Kalpana Soren, the jailed wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

They both conveyed their appreciation to the alliance members for uniting and participating in their battle.

“This despotism is ineffective. “My spouse is receiving numerous blessings,” Sunita Kejriwal said.

“Chief Minister Kejriwal’s resignation is being demanded by the BJP. Must he step down? Is his arrest warranted? I call him a’sher’ (lion). He won’t be able to stay imprisoned for very long, she predicted.

She also read out a statement from Arvind Kejriwal that outlined the INDI alliance’s six election commitments.

Kalpana Soren, the spouse of the late Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, said, “I come before you representing 50% of India’s female population and 9% of the tribal group.This assembly here on this historic site today is evidence that you have all traveled from all across the nation to put an end to the tyranny.

Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, charged the governing party in the Central government of spreading misinformation, claiming that the BJP is being “criticised” internationally for arresting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“The world is criticizing the BJP after Arvind Kejriwal’s detention. The ability of the government to act as it pleases has been shown. Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, was arrested. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested. Allegations have been made against every member of the opposition. However, he said, “Will the BJP, which is stealing and engaging in corruption in Uttar Pradesh, face any consequences?”

Chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), Uddhav Thackeray, said that the purpose of the gathering is to preserve democracy rather than to run for office.

“You make accusations and put people in jail; we’re not here to fight for elections; we’re here to save democracy.” What kind of administration is this?”

“How can the brother remain behind while two of our sisters are fighting? We are so here for Kalpana ji and Sunita ji, our sisters. Not only us, the whole nation supports you,” he said.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that there was a “undeclared emergency” in the nation while speaking at the event.

“My mother, father, sisters, and I have all received casses. It is not our place to be afraid. The way that Arvind Kejriwal ji and Hemant Soren ji were taken into custody (which was seen by everybody). Their threat is not going to intimidate us. Lion alone is imprisoned. As lions, we never back down from a fight,” Yadav said.

“Modi ji says his guarantee is a strong one, we say that his guarantee is like Chinese goods, use it two-three times and it goes bad,” Yadav said, teasing PM Modi’s electoral pledges. Thus, his assurances are only applicable to elections. All the BJP does is engage in threats and misinformation.”

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, took a strong stance against the BJP, labelling the RSS-BJP alliance as “poison” that had “destroyed” the nation.

“Don’t taste the BJP and the RSS; they are poisonous. He said, “They should not be allowed to destroy the country any more because they have already destroyed it.”

“This election is not an equal playing field. The opposition is being invited to play cricket on ground that PM Modi has prepared, Kharge claimed, adding that the next election is “not fair” since the Congress has already had its money “stolen.”

“They (the BJP-led central government) jail everyone, they have jailed those who made schools and hospitals, they have frozen Congress’ bank accounts,” Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said. What do they believe about themselves? Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren are in prison. Are you the house’s owner? No, the 140 crore people who live in this nation are the owners of this property.”

In order to attain genuine “Amrit Kaal,” CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury urged the Indian people to overthrow the Modi administration.

“We shall have independence from the Modi administration if our goal is to be rid of national unemployment and inflation. He said, “India will join, India will win,” and that “you will have to bring INDIA if you truly want to achieve Amrit Kaal in the country.”
