List of Parties Supporting Kejriwal Against the Center | Cong Makes Major Move to Support AAP on Delhi Ordinance

The governing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has referred to the Center’s legislation on the regulation of services in Delhi as “a positive development,” received a huge boost on Sunday when the Congress made it plain that it would “not support” the ordinance.

I believe they (AAP) will attend the meeting tomorrow, according to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, who made the statement the day before the planned gathering of Opposition leaders in Bengaluru. Regarding the ordinance, it is fairly apparent where we stand. We won’t be supporting it. The Congress went on to say that it would not support any effort to undermine the nation’s federal government or meddle in state affairs via governors.

Raghav Chadha, a national spokesman for the AAP and a member of parliament, tweeted in response to the news, “Congress expresses its categorical opposition to the Delhi Ordinance. This is a progress that is good.

Venugopal expressed optimism that the AAP will now take part in the next opposition party gathering in Bengaluru.

AAP proclaimed its attendance in the opposition gathering slated for Monday in response to the statement by Congress.

The opposition parties jointly vowed to work together against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections during their maiden meeting in Patna on June 23.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, and Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, both attended the big opposition gathering organized by Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar. AAP leaders, however, did not attend the joint news conference that followed the meeting, revealing rifts within the opposition’s united front.

AAP stated that it would be difficult for the party to participate in future discussions with other like-minded parties where the Congress is present unless the Congress publicly denounces the “black ordinance” and vows to have all 31 of its Rajya Sabha MPs oppose the ordinance.

12 PARTIES BACK THE DELHI ORDER?

Following the Patna opposition meeting, the AAP released a statement pointing out that 12 of the 15 parties present had representatives in the Rajya Sabha. The “black ordinance” has been categorically denounced by every party represented in the Rajya Sabha, and they have all stated their intention to fight it there.

Kejriwal has been actively involved in a national campaign, meeting with chief ministers from states like West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu as well as numerous opposition leaders and party leaders.

As of right now, Congress, TMC, DMK, Shiv Sena (Uddhav), JDU, RJD, JMM, CPI, CPI(M), NCP, SP, TRS, and BRS have all backed Arvind Kejriwal.

CONGRESS

As Arvind Kejriwal has made it known where he stands on the issue, the Delhi and Punjab chapters of the Congress has asked the national leadership to endorse the Center’s legislation. According to Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, talks on proposed or opposed legislation take place in Parliament, and all parties determine together which subjects they would work on together. According to Kharge, decisions involving 18–20 parties about the approval or resistance of certain issues will be made before to the start of Parliament.

After being silent for months, Congress finally said on Sunday that it will reject the order altering the Delhi National Capital Territory Act of 1991.

PARTY SAMAJWADI

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, and Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, went to the Samajwadi Party’s Lucknow headquarters where they met with Akhilesh Yadav, the chairman of the Samajwadi Party. A joint news conference with the three leaders and Akhilesh Yadav was held after the meeting, during which he affirmed his party’s support for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The Delhi (Services) Ordinance is anti-democratic, Yadav adamantly said. The Samajwadi Party is supporting the AAP in this conflict.

SENA SHIV (UBT)

Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), criticized the government, claiming that the opposition is banding together to “save the nation and democracy.” Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, was promised by Thackeray that the ordinance will have backing in Parliament. Uddhav Thackeray said, “I believe we should not be referred to as ‘opposition’ parties; rather, they (the Centre) should be labeled ‘opposition’ as they are opposed to democracy and the constitution.

CONGRESS OF TRINAMOOL

Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the TMC and the chief minister of West Bengal, supported Kejriwal’s stand against the ordinance that the Center had just proposed. Banerjee pledged her support and said it would provide a chance to “defeat the BJP before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.” “We support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in their fight against the central ordinance,” she said. I urge all parties to abstain from supporting the BJP’s bill.

RJD AND JDU

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, has pledged Kejriwal “complete support” in the current dispute with the Centre over the management of administrative services. The Center’s activities, according to Kumar, were “strange” and “baffling.” He questioned how an elected administration could lose its authority. According to the head of Janata Dal (United), Kejriwal is doing wonderful job in Delhi, hence it is strange that his administration is having trouble carrying out its duties. The speaker stressed the significance of all opposition parties coming together, adding, “That’s why we are saying that all (opposition parties) in the country should come together.” Tejashwi Yadav, the head of the RJD, accompanied Kumar.

Dr. Vivian Munnett Kazhagam

M K Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, said that the federal government was provoking a crisis in the non-BJP states and declared that the DMK, the state’s governing party, will vehemently resist the central government’s ordinance. The Center is destabilizing the Aam Aadmi Party and preventing a legitimately elected government from operating on its own. The Center filed the ordinance notwithstanding the Supreme Court ruling in favor of the AAP administration. The DMK would vehemently reject it, according to Stalin.

MUKTI JHARKHAND MORCHA

Following a meeting in Ranchi between Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal and his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha declared its support for the AAP in its opposition to the Centre’s legislation on control of administrative services in Delhi.

NCP

Sharad Pawar, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Kejriwal met with Punjab Chief Minister Mann and other AAP leaders. Following the meeting, CM Kejriwal said that NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has offered the AAP-led Delhi Government his unconditional support in the current dispute with the Centre.

RASHTRAVADI SAMANTA PARTY IN BHARATIYA

In this matter, the Bharatiya Rashtravadi Samanta Party has backed the Delhi Chief Minister. In order to get the support of his party, Kejriwal—who is also the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party—met with BRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad.

TRS

Kejriwal has received backing from K Chandrashekhar Rao, the leader of the TRS in Telangana and a vocal opponent of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has urged that the Center immediately revoke the order.

CPI

Following a meeting with CPI General Secretary D Raja, Delhi Chief Minister Kejrwal declared the Communist Party of India’s support for the ordinance issue.

A DELHI ORDER

The national government, backed by the BJP, essentially overturned a Supreme Court decision that gave the elected government in Delhi power over service-related issues when it proposed an ordinance in May governing the transfer and posting of bureaucrats in Delhi. The goal of the law is to create a National Capital Civil Service Authority to manage the disciplinary and transfer processes for Group-A officials in the DANICS cadre. The lieutenant governor exercised executive power over the transfer and posting of all officials in the Delhi government before to the Supreme Court’s decision on May 11.
