Lok Sabha elections 2024: 350 people vote for this Assamese family

On April 19, 2024, a family of 350 electors will cast their ballots together in Sonitpur, Assam, during the first round of the Lok Sabha elections. Sonitpur district is included in the Sonitpur parliamentary segment and the Rangpara assembly constituency.

Of his spouses, Ron Bahadur Thapa had five. He leaves behind twelve sons, nine daughters, and almost one hundred and fifty grandkids. About 350 of his approximately 1,200-member family are eligible to vote in the next Lok Sabha elections.

On April 19, 350 members of Ron Bahadur’s family—including the village chief of Nepali Paam, Til Bahadur Thapa—will cast ballots.

Ron Bahadur moved to Nepali Paam in 1964 to live with his father. In 1997, he passed away.

In 1964, my father moved to this state to dwell with my grandpa. We have twelve brothers and nine sisters, and my father had five marriages. By his sons, he has 56 grandkids. The grandkids on the daughter’s side are unknown to me. Approximately 350 members of the Thapa family in Nepali Paam are eligible to vote in this election. Our family would have more than 1,200 people in total if we include all of the offspring, Til Bahadur Thapa told ANI.

Sarki Bahadur Thapa, another son of Ron Bahadur, informed the news agency that the family’s total size is around 1,200 people.

Sarki, 64, is the father of twelve children and three women.

Assam will hold three rounds of Lok Sabha elections on April 19, April 26, and May 7.

With 44 days to go, the next Lok Sabha elections will be the longest ever. It will take place throughout the nation in seven stages. The date of the results’ announcement is set on June 4, 2024.
