Pandit’s candidacy for the Mumbai North West seat was supported by a video that the film and TV industry shared. According to ANI, the tape also included Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit hails from India. As to ANI, he is the head of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) and is a Pandit from Kashmir.

There are six Assembly seats in the Mumbai North West constituency: Versova, Andheri West, Jogeshwari East, Dindoshi, and Goregaon.

Three of the six seats are held by the BJP, two by the Shiv Sena UBT, and one by the Shiv Sena, where UBT member Ravindra Waikar joined the Shiv Sena after switching sides.

On April 26, Maharashtra’s eight Lok Sabha seats will be the site of a second round of elections.

Polling took place in Ramtek, Nagpur, Bhandara – Gondiya, Gadchiroli – Chimur, and Chandrapur on April 19, the first phase of the election.
