Maharashtra: A Man Was Arrested In Nashik For Chanting Pro-Pakistani Slogans

During a ceremony commemorating Pakistan’s independence, a 25-year-old man from the Nashik region of Maharashtra was detained, a top official said on Thursday.

According to the spokesman, police have been stationed in the vicinity to avert any untoward incidents.

A gathering was held on August 15 near the Chandwad toll plaza, around 60 kilometers outside of Nashik City, according to the police. An official said that one of the toll plaza workers, Shadab Shafaqat Qureshi, started yelling “Pakistan Zindabad” throughout the show.

The toll plaza manager then made a police complaint, which led to the filing of a case against Qureshi and his subsequent detention, according to the official.

During an all-party protest march on Wednesday, Qureshi’s arrest for sedition was sought at the Chandwad police station.

“The Chandwad toll plaza incident has been reported to the police, and the culprit has been taken into custody. Additional police have been made available, and further investigations are being conducted, according to Superintendent of Police Shahaji Umap.
