Maharashtra: A Shiv Sena advertisement claims Shinde is preferred over Fadnavis to be the chief minister

The Shiv Sena, headed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, published a full-page advertising on Tuesday with the headline “Modi for India, Shinde for Maharashtra,” citing a poll that indicated Shinde was more popular than BJP candidate Devendra Fadnavis.

Sanjay Raut, the head of the Shiv Sena (UBT), dubbed the group “Modi-Shah’s Shiv Sena” in response to the advertisement.

The commercial has pictures of Chief Minister Shinde and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the bow and arrow emblem of Sena. In contrast to its past promotional materials, it does not include the late Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of the Shiv Sena.

According to the commercial, “…for the chief minister’s position, 26.1% of the people in Maharashtra desire Eknath Shinde and 23.2% of the people wish to see Devendra Fadnavis as the next chief minister.”

Therefore, there is clear evidence that 49.3% of Maharashtrians want to see a strong partnership between the BJP and Shiv Sena for the state’s leadership, the statement stated.

A Zee TV-Matrize poll is where the advertisement’s numbers and assertions are said to have come from.

“According to electoral polls, 30.2% of Maharashtrians support the Bharatiya Janata Party, while 16.2% support the Shiv Sena (headed by Eknath Shinde). According to these figures, 46.4% of Maharashtrians believe that the BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena would work together to improve the state, the commercial said.

Sanjay Raut of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) commented on the commercial, saying, “It was Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena prior, but the advertisement has cleared the air. Shiv Sena is currently owned by Modi-Shah. Where is the late Balasaheb Thackeray’s picture or image in the advertisement? Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the state BJP president, sought to minimize the advertising, nevertheless.

“The election outcome is always what determines whether party or leader is more popular with the electorate. Shinde was well-liked while he served as a cabinet minister, and as chief minister, his popularity has grown. The state’s citizens have high hopes for Fadnavis, Shinde, and Modi.

He said that Fadnavis had received support from Maharashtrians twice for office as the state’s governor. “There is no comparison between the Shiv Sena and BJP about who is a bigger or smaller party,” Bawankule said.

Atul Londhe, the chief spokesman for the Maharashtra branch of the Congress, referred to the study as “false” and said Shinde had exploited it to further his own interests.

“After the election, Maha Vikas Aghadi will undoubtedly win 200 seats in the assembly and more than 42 seats in the Lok Sabha (in Maharashtra).” He (Shinde) would be the subject of a fresh narrative beginning “Once upon a time, there was Shinde.

Maharashtra has 288 Assembly districts and 48 Lok Sabha seats. Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP, who are partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), have declared that they would work as closely as possible to win the elections.

The Shinde-led Sena’s top whip, Bharat Gogawale, said, “We never manage to get anybody a favorable survey. Shinde is very approachable and travels to all regions of the state. We have not requested a poll from any media outlet.
