Man who raped mentally challenged gets ten years in prison and a ₹two-million fine

Nagpur: On Monday, District and Additional Sessions Judge RR Bhosale found 56-year-old Dasrath Salve guilty of repeatedly raping a mentally challenged lady who got pregnant. He was sentenced to ten years of hard labour and a fine of Rs two lakh.

In Hazaripahad on Sunday, a man named Karan Hawaldar (28) assaulted his father-in-law, Maroti Atram, and demanded Rs 10,000.

Hawaldar, an alcoholic, had been threatening to beat Atram and was now requesting money from him. Cops in Gittikhadan are investigating.
