Millions of people visit a post on Delhi Playschool Fee Structure, which creates discussion

A social media post by a Chartered Accountant (CA) from Delhi, describing how he paid Rs 4.3 lakh for his son’s preschool (playschool) tuition for the 2024–2025 academic year, has amassed 2.3 million views.

When he revealed the whole tuition schedule, Akash Kumar made it clear that it was more than he had personally spent on school. His message received a lot of feedback from online users; more than two lakh individuals interacted with it.

“My son’s playschool tuition exceeds all of my educational costs.” He made fun of the playschool’s outrageous costs in his post, saying, “I hope he learns how to play here.”

While some expressed empathy with Kumar, citing their own encounters with escalating playschool fees, others chastised him for attending a posh school and said his grievances were now unfounded.

“This rings true for many of us,” said an Indian officer in the Foreign Service. Cities have seen a surge in the expense of education. Intervention is required.

One commenter, Mitul Mehta, said, “It’s ironic that education is still free of taxes, but the costs are high.” We are all, regrettably, in the same boat.

Many, however, refuted Kumar’s complaints, arguing that he was free to choose a new school.

“It’s not a school, it’s a luxury resort,” others jokingly said. In a lighthearted question, freelance writer Amit Aethi asked, “Is employment placement guaranteed by this playschool? Does Sanjeev Kapoor or Vikas Khanna provide catering? Or do the children own their own helicopters? It seems that one school determines the overall development rate of India.
