MP from Peddapalli, denied a ticket, may join the BJP

Those who feel they were not given the chance to run in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections seem to be unhappy as contenders from all across the state prepare to submit their nominations. Borlakunta Venkatesh, the MP for Peddapalli, is reportedly furious with the Congress for not choosing him and plans to join the BJP soon.

This information has acquired momentum on social media and generated attention in political circles, even if he has not yet confirmed the development. After winning the Peddapalli seat in the 2019 General Elections on a BRS ticket, Venkatesh shifted to the Congress in the hopes of receiving a nomination from the venerable party after the next Assembly elections. He intends to join the BJP, nevertheless, since his dreams have been shattered by the Congress’s nomination of Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, the son of Chennur MLA G Vivek.

Note that Gomasa Srinivas has already been nominated for the seat by the saffron party. But there is unhappiness over his candidacy, and a party cadre has said that he has remained quiet even throughout the campaign.

According to local officials, the Congress and BJP may divide the votes if Venkatesh joins the saffron party. TNIE tried many times to get in touch with the MP to get a response on the matter, but to no avail.

Unhappiness with the saffron party candidate

Gomasa Srinivas is the BJP’s presumptive nominee for the position, however there is disagreement with his selection. According to local authorities, Venkatesh may be nominated from the Peddapalli segment and divide votes intended for the Congress if he joins the BJP.
