MP Maneka Gandhi wants the pet license cost to be reinstituted

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: In response to a letter from animal rights activist and BJP MP Maneka Gandhi criticizing the cost structure, the municipal body announced on Thursday that they will reassess the current amount levied for obtaining the pet permit.

Gandhi said in a letter dated April 11 that the Rs 750 pet licensing price was too exorbitant and arbitrary.
It will be instantly overturned by the court.

The letter states that the government must provide a service in exchange for whatever money it receives.
Gandhi said that fewer pets will be registered due to the hefty cost. “I advise you to follow the lead set by other nations. Kindly impose a price of only Rs. 200 and provide a free yearly vaccine against rabies,” the woman pleaded.

Two pet owners were recently fined by the Chhatrapti Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) for failing to get the necessary permit.

The CSMC’s animal husbandry officer, Shaikh Shahed Shaikh Nizam, said that the pet license costs will be reevaluated after the Lok Sabha elections.
