Mumbai: A Pune prisoner who violated his parole is apprehended by Kandivali police

Following a tip, Kandivali Police apprehended a Pune-based prisoner who had violated his parole on Thursday. The prisoner was given release last year while serving his term in the district jail in Paithan, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, on the murder charge.

In 2011, Kandivali Police charged and detained 31-year-old Manish Prasad Narsingh Goud on charges of violating Sections 302, 363, and 201 of the Indian Penal Code.

According to authorities, he was serving out a life sentence from the session court.

They also said that Goud was granted 28 days of accrued vacation in 2023, but he did not return, and the Chembur Police Station subsequently filed an IPC Section 224 complaint against him.

He was sought in connection with a case filed under IPC Sections 324, 341, 323, 504 and 506 at the Samta Nagar Police Station in Kandivali (East) last year. He committed a crime while violating his parole.

Senior Inspector Dnyaneshwar Ganore and his squad, which included sub-inspectors Nitin Satam and Bharat Rane as well as their staff members Hawaldar Kapse Chavan and others, apprehended Goud. Through the help of an informant, the accused Goud was discovered, taken into prison at the Chembur Police Station in Pune’s Chakan area, and arrested from Nanekarwadi.

The squad worked under the direction and supervision of DCP Anand Bhoite Zone 11 to execute his arrest.
