Mumbai Youth Congress Launches Anti-State and Union Government Sticker Campaign

The Mumbai Youth Congress has launched a satirical sticker campaign against the “vikas” in the state and union governments as they prepare for the next Lok Sabha elections. To highlight the shortcomings of the administration, youth congress members put stickers with the phrase “Ha Majha Vikas” all over the city.

The youth congress members of the city have devised a novel campaign to oppose the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra and the National Democratic Alliance in the center, coinciding with the commencement of campaigning for the upcoming parliamentary elections by both the Mahayuti and the Maha Vikas Aghadi, Maharashtra’s political coalitions. Congress is putting stickers in different parts of the city to raise public awareness of the government’s “claim of development.”

The Mumbai Congress youth wing launched the campaign on Thursday from the Gokhale Bridge in Andheri (West), which is a representation of a significant error made by the municipal corporation due to the bridge’s misalignment with the Barfiwala flyover due to an engineering problem. The phrase “ha majha vikas,” which translates to “this is our development,” was affixed on stickers featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of Maharashtra, and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by Youth Congress members.

“The six-foot gap between the Gokhale bridge and the Barfiwala flyover is the prime example of the kind of blunder this government is carrying out in the name of vikas,” said Sufiyan Haider, the Mumbai Youth Congress’ working president. This is a satirical ad aimed at mocking the government, which constantly speaks about vikas, even if there aren’t any.

Mumbai Youth Congress president Akhilesh Yadav and party activists also put stickers at the Mulund toll booth and the gas outlets in Mumbadevi and Malad in addition to the Gokhale Bridge. The party plans to launch a harsh satirical campaign against the administration in the coming days, using the coastline route as well as many other metropolitan roadways. In addition, the party wants to demonstrate opposition to the rising cost of gasoline by posting the stickers at every gas station in the city.

In the few months since it was inaugurated, the beachfront road has already started to crumble. Even though the development is still ongoing, it has only been made accessible for the election. In order to urge people to consider the rising cost of gasoline each time they stop at the pump to fill their car, we want to attach these stickers to all of the city’s gas pumps, according to Haider.
