My ten-year goals will guarantee my victory

The Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat is a prominent political position in the city. Kesineni Srinivas, also known as Nani, and Kesineni Shivnath, also known as Chinni, are two brothers who will compete in the election. Nani just defected from the TDP to the YSRCP. Nani is confident about scoring a hat trick in an exclusive interview with P V Krishna Rao, even if TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu runs against him.

How certain are you that you can get a hat trick?

Knowing how I have performed over the previous two terms as a Vijayawada MP gives me complete confidence.

Do you not believe that your hasty choice to switch the party would have an impact on your prospects of winning?

No. Despite my departure from the party, the voters and cadre understand why I did so and evaluate me on my efforts and dedication to building the constituency.

How would you rank the previous two terms’ worth of accomplishments? What accomplishments have you made?

Traffic congestion has been lessened thanks to two significant flyovers: one at the Benz Circle and the other near the Kanaka Durga Temple. I personally convinced Nitin Gadkari, the Union minister at the time, of the matter. Hyderabad commanded the attention of a unified Andhra Pradesh. Despite Amravati being designated as the capital after the split, the city underperformed in every area. Not even a decent airport existed for us. I urged the previous chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, to build a green field airport in Gannavaram, and he did it.

Why did you decide to switch parties?

My services were not appreciated by Chandrababu Naidu, who ultimately refused my ticket. I made the option to leave the party after being told of this choice and instructed not to take part in any party events. I accepted the invitation from the Chief Minister and YSRCP President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to join the party.

Was it only a kind of payback for not providing a ticket, or was there another reason that drew you to the YSRCP?

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s dedication to helping the underprivileged, enacting welfare programs, building government schools, implementing other welfare programs, lowering the poverty rate, etc., drew me to the YSRCP.

Do you agree that the only jobs and progress in AP have been assistance schemes?

No. I refuse to concur. Only 40,000 employment were produced under Chandrababu’s tenure, compared to over six lakh jobs, including two lakh in the private sector. Jagan prioritized the development of human resources.

He initiated the development of many ports in the state with an emphasis on the blue economy. Building village and ward secretariats cost Rs 30,000 crore, according to Jagan Mohan Reddy, who implemented decentralization of governance. Thus, we have a lot to say to the public and ask for their support.
