Odisha: A goods train runs over workers who were hiding under it, killing four people

At least four laborers were allegedly run over by a cargo train at the Jajpur Railway station in Odisha, and three more were badly injured. This occurs five days after one of the worst railway catastrophes, which left 278 people dead and over a thousand injured in Balasore, Odisha.

The reports state that because of the intense rain, the workers sought refuge beneath the freight train, and the train began to move without their realizing it.

A representative for the railway informed the reporters, “There was an unexpected rainstorm. A goods train was idling at the railroad siding where the laborers were employed. They took cover behind it, but sadly the freight train, which was empty of an associated engine, began moving, which led to the catastrophe.

He said that four persons had passed away and that three more had serious injuries.

Locals in Jajpur, according to reports, said that two more wounded people had also passed away as a result of their wounds.
