All polling locations are set for Friday’s Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, according to Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo’s statement on Thursday.

6.23 crore voters, consisting of 3.06 crore males, 3.17 crore women, and 8,467 individuals of third gender, will determine the outcome of 950 candidates, including 76 female contenders. All 39 Lok Sabha seats will have polling between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Voters who enter the line by 6 p.m. will all get tokens and be able to cast ballots.

A state-level control center has been established at the secretariat in Chennai to oversee the live-streaming of polls from all throughout Tamil Nadu. Over 44,000 voting places out of the state’s 68,321 stations will have online streaming accessible. From the control room, a group of thirteen DRO-cadre officers will sporadically observe how voting is going on at these polling places. Additionally, they will receive complaints about polling and submit them to the district authorities so that prompt action may be taken.

Seniors and people with disabilities (PwDs) may use the Saksham app, phone 1950, or contact the District Control Room to arrange for pick-up and drop-off services from their homes to the polling place. “The facility has been streamlined to help needy voters to the maximum extent possible, even though it was available even during the 2021 Assembly elections,” the CEO told TNIE.

Additionally, plans have been developed to provide free bus tickets to elderly voters, those with visual or motor impairments, and voters with limited mobility so they may use public transportation on election day. Pregnant women and those with disabilities will be given preference in voting lines. Persons with disabilities have been given special consideration. serve as volunteers to assist older residents, expectant mothers, and PwDs. In addition, the ECI launched a tool on Friday that allows users to see the queue status of every polling place. Voters may see this by going to https://erolls.tn.gov.in/Queue before to entering their voting places. 3.32 lakh poll workers will be working on election-related tasks.
