On-screen poll war: rivals attack rivals with memes, cartoons, and blogs

It seems that political parties are showcasing their accomplishments on social media in the lead-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Call surveys are starting, and social media is ablaze with rivalry between cartoons and memes as each political party vies for the attention of voters.

Congress and AAP lawmakers have been the focus of the BJP4Delhi Instagram feed, which refers to their homes as “Corruption ki dukaan.” On the other hand, Kejriwal posters with statements like “I am the kingpin of liquor scam” and “Give your resignation” are posted on the BJP’s Facebook page. It is evident that the BJP’s conflict in Delhi is limited to the AAP.

On the other hand, it seems that the Congress Instagram feed stays away from posting anything critical of any one party or playing blame games. Rather of emphasizing the party’s accomplishments or what it would do for the people, their postings concentrate on their own successes.

Similar to how #AAPDelhi is trending on social media, all of their leaders are attempting to win over voters this year by highlighting how Kejriwal changed the nation’s capital and attempting to instill in them the idea that the city wants him back. Several AAP officials have been hosting events under the “Jail ka jawab vote se” banner, which is the name of the campaign that the Aam Aadmi Party is waging.

In addition to the conflict on social media, voters are already receiving unsolicited phone calls with prerecorded messages asking them to identify the political party and the specific candidates they would support.

There are three ways for users to hit the button that corresponds to their preferred party leader. Nevertheless, the call ends right away when the user hits any button. Some individuals are receiving these calls twice a day if they were unable to click the button the first time, based on social media users who are posting their experiences.

With the exception of Manoj Tiwari from the North East seat, the BJP has replaced every current member in Delhi. However, an alliance between the AAP and Congress has been created, with a 4:3 seat sharing arrangement. In the sixth of seven phases of the Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled on May 25, both parties have announced their candidates.
