Patient’s doctor was accused of “sexually harassing” her

In the Khandwala neighborhood here, a doctor has been reported by the police for allegedly harassing a female patient in a sexual manner. Since the event, the culprit, identified as Rakesh Sharma, has fled the scene.

The woman said that on April 13, she visited Rakesh Sharma to get medication for a stomach ailment.

He determined that the uterus was swollen and suggested giving it a drip. She reported that he began the therapy by sending her husband outdoors. She said that the clinic was empty at the time.

She said that the accused began making offensive and disgusting comments to her as a way of making fun of her. In addition, she claimed that the accused made improper physical contact with her and asked to be friends.

She said that she became scared and began to weep. The accused snuck out of the clinic as her husband entered on this day.

She said that as a result, her health deteriorated and she was unable to contact the police at the time to file a complaint. Yesterday, she filed a complaint with the Chheharta police, which led to the police filing a case against the accused under Section 354A of the IPC.
