People in Tennessee will remove the corrupt DMK, claims Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday that the people of Tamil Nadu would firmly support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expel the “corrupt DMK,” accusing the party of manipulating and dividing the people over linguistic issues. In a subtly anti-Hindi allusion, the Minister for Commerce and Industry said that the DMK used every chance to divide people along linguistic lines and added that this Dravidian party was “misleading the people on different occasions.”

He told reporters here that “the people of Tamil Nadu will stand together to uproot the corrupt state government.”

He praised K Annamalai, the head of the Tamil Nadu branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (TN BJP), for his efforts to bring people together via the current “En Mann, En Makkal” (My Land, My People) padayatra throughout the state, saying “the young and dynamic leader is taking the message of oneness to the nook and corner of Tamil Nadu.”

“I have no doubt that Tamil Nadu’s people would support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Annamalai to defend the nation and the state. They would try to ensure that Tamil Nadu develops, is prosperous, and is free of corruption, according to Goyal.

“To throw out this corrupt government led by Stalin and ensure that in the future Tamil Nadu regains pride of place in India and the world,” the Union Minister added, describing how he could see the support of all segments of the people of Tamil Nadu growing.
