Phase I of the LS Election 2024 saw 33% of voters in WB till 11 a.m., and 25% in UP; see state-by-state figures

Voting in 102 seats spread across 21 states and Union Territories for the first round of the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 began at 11 am in West Bengal, where 33.56 percent of voters turned out.

As per the figures released by the Elections Commission, Uttar Pradesh had a voter turnout of 25.20 percent up till 11 am. In Uttarakhand, the turnout was 24.80%, in Tamil Nadu, 23.72%, and in Tripura, 33.28%.

Up to 11 a.m., Lakshadweep had the lowest voter participation, at 16.33%.

In Arunachal Pradesh, 18.26% of voters cast ballots, while in Chhattisgarh, 28.12% of voters cast ballots till 11 a.m.

Twenty-four percent of votes were cast till 11 a.m. in Bihar, twenty-six percent in Jammu and Kashmir, twenty-seven percent in Manipur, thirty-six percent in Madhya Pradesh, nineteen percent in Maharashtra, nineteen percent in Rajasthan, twenty-seven percent in Tamil Nadu, and twenty-seven percent in Assam, according to ECI statistics.

First-phase general election voting started at 7 AM and will run till 6 PM.

Beginning today, there will be seven stages to the elections. June 1 is the day of the last round of voting; on June 4, the results and vote tallying will be announced.
