PM behaving in a “petty political” manner, according to Mallikarjun Kharge

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was behaving like a “petty politician.” After the first round of voting, Modi became concerned about unseen votes and decided to attack the Congress, he told reporters at Indira Bhavan.

The head of the Congress pressed Modi to explain why he should care about the ancient Indian party if it isn’t a powerful one.

“Modi is very irritated. I have been campaigning in ten or twelve states, and both the general public and voters have given me extremely positive feedback. Kharge said, “I want Modi to study our nation’s history and learn how to maintain national unity.”

Kharge brought up the fact that RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had nine children and that B. R. Ambedkar was the youngest of fourteen siblings in reference to Modi’s hate speech in Rajasthan.

“So, is there a community that has the most children? Modi says so, but how? This is very appalling. By bringing up mangalsutra, he is also attempting to win over votes, Kharge said.

Shashi Tharoor and Adoor Prakash, the UDF’s candidates for Thiruvananthapuram and Attingal, were also present at the news conference. You may remember that Tharoor and Kharge had a run-off in the Congress presidential race. While praising Tharoor, Kharge did not spare Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Karnataka colleague politician running for the NDA in Thiruvananthapuram.

“Tell me about one thing Rajeev did for Karnataka during his eighteen years as an MP there. Kerala is meant to be the perfect state. After telling Rajeev that enough was enough, the people of Karnataka demanded that he demonstrate his abilities in his own state, which is why he traveled to Thiruvananthapuram. In addition to becoming a national icon, Tharoor has gained worldwide recognition. Kharge said, “He was a gifted speaker in Parliament, and we often asked him to speak on foreign policy.”

Prior to the press conference, Kharge was in his hotel room with Tharoor and Adoor Prakash, even though he did not actively advocate for them.
