PM Modi Chairs Late-Night Meeting To Select Candidates For Lok Sabha Elections; List Will Be Released Soon

To debate the first list of candidates for the 2018 Lok Sabha elections, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and party chairman JP Nadda, gathered at the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting in the nation’s capital. Finalizing candidates for over 155 seats across 17 states was the main goal of the conference, which started at 10:30 p.m. and continued for more than four hours at the party headquarters. In the next days, an official announcement on the list is anticipated.

Important Lok Sabha seats were discussed at the meeting between Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda. The talks were made more significant by the important state officials’ attendance. Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Goa were among the notable guests. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also there.

Sources claim that before the Election Commission announces the dates of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP would probably declare their candidates for the “weak seats” in Uttar Pradesh.
