PM Modi Discusses Actions Taken to Address Flood-Like Situation in Delhi with LG

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called with Lt Governor V K Saxena on Saturday as soon as he arrived in Delhi from overseas to find out how things were doing with the flood-like scenario in the nation’s capital, according to sources.

Following heavy rains, some areas of Delhi were under water as the Yamuna surged past the danger threshold.

On Saturday, however, the river’s water level began to trend lower, enabling officials to reopen highways and facilitate easier traffic flow as floods subsided in numerous regions.

According to an official, “immediately upon his arrival in Delhi, the PM spoke to LG of Delhi about the status of the flood-like situation in Delhi due to the Yamuna river and the progress achieved in mitigation.” Modi visited France and the United Arab Emirates for three days.
