PM Modi Upholds “Track” Record in Varanasi: Second Vande Bharat to Tamil Sangamam, Rly Projects to Be Started

On Sunday, as part of his two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the second Vande Bharat on the Varanasi-New Delhi line, providing the areas with important rail projects. Along with starting the Kanyakumari-Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train, he will also launch the second iteration of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam.

The Prime Minister will officially open and lay the groundwork for 37 projects totaling more than Rs 19,000 crore that will promote the development of Purvanchal and Varanasi.

The main rail initiatives in the area are:

Second Vande Bharat on Benaras-New Delhi route: In 2019, train 18 replaced the original Vande Bharat Express route, which traveled from New Delhi to Varanasi. The Prime Minister will begin a second Vande Bharat along the same path in four years. In addition to being a present for the Varanasi community, it supports Railways’ assertion that train passengers like Vande Bharat. It was decided to start another train based on the demand that exists on the route at the moment. The current Vande Bharat departs New Delhi at 6 am and arrives back in Varanasi at 3 pm. The new train will leave in the morning and arrive back in the evening in Varanasi.

The project to convert the 34.37-km Indra-Dohrighat gauge to a wide gauge would improve connectivity in the surrounding districts. Additionally, the area is electrified. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will cut the ribbon on the Rs 213-crore facility.
Memu rail service runs from Mau station to Dohrighat.

The project to double Ballia-Ghazipur City will be dedicated.

The DFC initiative is devoted to the country.
At the Varanasi locomotive plant, the 10,000th locomotive was produced.

Railway Claims Tribunal opens for business.
After being greeted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel when he arrives on Sunday afternoon, Modi will spend around twenty-five hours in Varanasi, according to an official statement released here. Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the second iteration of Kashi Tamil Sangamam in the evening at Namo Ghat on the first day of his visit to Varanasi. He will launch the Kashi Tamil Sangamam Express, which will run between Varanasi and Kanyakumari, during this ceremony.

1,400 dignitaries from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will attend the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, which is scheduled from December 17–31. They will go to Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya, according to the statement.
