In the Delhi Jal Board Case, Arvind Kejriwal Ignores ED Summons

According to sources inside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has opted not to appear for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons over a money laundering inquiry linked to purported anomalies within the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

The investigation into the DJB case, the AAP had earlier said, seemed to be an attempt to imprison Kejriwal and impede his attempts to campaign for the next Lok Sabha elections.

The AAP responded to the summons by asking, “Why is ED delivering summonses again while there is court-issued bail? ED summonses are prohibited.

In relation to the Delhi Jal Board issue, Kejriwal was called by the Enforcement Department (ED) under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
