PM says NDA would win after roadshow in Chennai

With only ten days till the April 19 Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a packed roadshow on Tuesday in Chennai’s T Nagar. While the PM waved at his fans who were gathered on either side of the road, he was accompanied by BJP state president K Annamalai and party candidates Tamilisai Soundararajan (South Chennai), Vinoj P Selvam (Central Chennai), and RC Paul Kanagaraj (North Chennai) in a decorated automobile.

The PM carried a miniature cutout of the BJP’s lotus emblem in addition to her customary “veshti” (dhoti) and “angavastram” (shawl). She was wearing a white blouse. The PM was seen grinning and waving to the crowd during the roughly 45-minute tour that covered two kilometers from Panagal Park to Teynampet. Many in the throng were spotted holding signs endorsing the BJP and the PM, in addition to those shouting “Bharat mata ki jai” and “Modi, Modi.”

Later, the PM said that Chennai had won him over and that the roadshow will live on in a series of postings on “X.””The blessings of the people give me the will to continue serving you with diligence and to further build our country. The fervor moreover indicates that Tamil Nadu is prepared to provide substantial backing to the NDA,” he said in a post.

Attacking the DMK, he said that the party’s MPs often vanished and that it had done nothing for the city.

Congress and DMK involved in strategic interests being harmed: PM

“DMK collected votes from Chennai residents for years, yet the party accomplished little for the city. DMK is occupied with advancing family rule and corruption. People can’t get in touch with their MPs, especially during hard times, Modi said.

The DMK and Congress were involved in undermining our strategic interests and the welfare of our fishermen and fisherwomen, as shown by the recently disclosed facts to the public on the Katchatheevu surrender. He said, “It makes sense that Chennai is prepared to reject the DMK and Congress this time around.”

“I pledge to my fellow citizens of Chennai that our administration would continue to strive for the betterment of this thriving metropolis. I have visited this place a lot in the last several years to launch and set the groundwork for important initiatives that would improve “Ease of Living.” This is mostly a connection issue. He said that Chennai Airport’s new integrated terminal building was just officially opened. This railway station, Egmore Station, will be renovated in the near future.

He said that improved connection between Chennai and Mysuru and Coimbatore had also been made possible by Vande Bharat Express. The professionals that work in the city will benefit from the expansion of the Chennai Metro network. Commerce and connectivity would be enhanced by major road projects like the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway and the extension of other ongoing road projects, the speaker said.

BJP officials took care to ensure that the attendees at the event were diverse. The roadshow was also open to college students and recipients of central government aid programs. It was the responsibility of each functionary to bring at least 100 people to the road show. About sixty college students attended the roadshow from Maduravoyal and Narikuravar, which are located in the red highlands.

“PM recognized our community with ST.” We came here to express our gratitude to them,” a local person said.

By three o’clock in the afternoon, the public could enter the arena, and the number of attendees began to grow. From midday to night, thousands of people flocked to the event. Despite the blocked highways, businesses and a few restaurants remained open until late in the evening. The road show was attended by visitors from all across the city in addition to locals. Along the way, traditional artists from Tamil Nadu welcomed the PM with performances of their works.

The BJP planned the roadshow as a show of force to position itself as the head of the coalition prepared to take on the Dravidian parties’ stranglehold over the Tamil Nadu political landscape. Although the OPS group and the Tamil Maanila Congress were represented in the mass of supporters, the alliance party flags were absent.

Modi will speak at election rallies in Vellore and Mettupalayam in the Coimbatore district on Wednesday in favor of NDA candidates Annamalai, union minister L Murugan, and Soumya Anbumani, the ally PMK candidate in Dharmapuri, after an overnight stay in Chennai.
