Bengaluru: Bomb Threats via Email Reach 15 Schools; Students Evacuated; Bomb Squad In Action

In a terrifying event that occurred on Friday morning, fifteen schools in Bengaluru received bomb threats via email. Before the municipal police’s anti-sabotage and bomb teams began their investigation, the sudden and unanticipated environment of panic compelled the school administration to evacuate the pupils, according to a senior police officer.

Regarding the danger of bombs
The offenders, according to the authorities, were skilled at hiding the IP address of the sender’s home country.

According to media sources, after the threats on Friday, up to 15 schools with more than 5,000 students were compelled to adopt emergency measures, which included sending the kids home or having them wait for police approval before allowing them to return to class.

“We are encountering an unexpected situation at school today,” the official statement from the school said. Unknown sources have sent a security threat to the school. In an early Friday morning communication to parents, the NEEV School said, “We have decided to disperse the students immediately as we hold the safety of our children at utmost priority.” “The bomb squad has advised sending the kids home. The youngsters should return home for their protection while we assess the situation.

A similar incidence was documented in 2022.
This was not the first time such a large-scale effort at fearmongering was made in Bengaluru schools. Bomb threat letters were sent to sixteen Bengaluru schools back in 2022, and curiously, this Friday’s letters resembled those from the prior year quite a bit.

These kinds of inspections are carried out at schools like NEEV, KLAY, and Vidyashilp.

The threat email from 2022 stated: “This is not a joke, a very powerful bomb has been planted in your school. Call the police and sappers right away. Do not delay; everything is now in your hands.” Hundreds of lives, including your own, could be lost.
