Police in Assam recover narcotics worth Rs 12 crore, three are detained

According to sources, the Assam Police detained three drug dealers in the Kamrup district of Assam and seized drugs with an estimated street value of at least Rs 12 crore.

A senior police official claims that on the basis of specific information, the Kamrup district police launched an operation on Saturday night and discovered 700 grammes of heroin in a car.

Three people were detained by the police after they were accused of selling drugs.

Abdul Hai, Mohidul Islam, and Rafiqul Islam have been named as the three narcotics dealers who have been arrested.

These three people, according to the police, were transporting narcotics from Guwahati to Dhubri in a car.

In the Palashbari region of the district, where the police team had halted the vehicle, they discovered 50 soap boxes inside, each carrying 10 packets of heroin totaling 700 grammes.

The policeman calculated that the narcotics’ market worth may be close to Rs 12 crore.
