Police sources said a Delhi officer drugged and violated a friend’s teenage daughter

A top government officer in Delhi regularly sexually assaulted a young girl. Before each attack, narcotics were administered to the victim, who once awoke with injuries. After her father’s non-Covid death in 2020, she was likewise despondent. Shortly after her father’s passing, she was raped for the first time after being taken to the official’s house by her mother, who thought she’d be safe there.

The girl admitted that the official had abused her at a church and at his house. She had panic episodes as a result of her father’s passing and the abuse, which kept her from seeking assistance. When she spoke with a counselor while receiving therapy for panic attacks, the abuse was revealed. She keeps going to therapy to get well from the attacks.

Khakha, the accused official, has been detained and suspended, although he refutes the accusations. His wife was also detained for giving the victim abortion pills. Following condemnation from the Chief Minister of Delhi and the head of the women’s commission, Khakha was suspended and then arrested.

The adolescent spent five months in Burari, and according to information from the police, during that time, in February 2021, he was sexually attacked once again. After that, a month later, she left for a family gathering in Jharkhand and did not return to Khakha’s home.

The girl told the authorities that Khakha had harassed her sexually both in the church and at his house, according to her statement.

The juvenile girl, who is now in Class XII, reportedly had regular panic episodes after her father passed away, according to the authorities. She joined an open learning program after Class IX but later left school due to these assaults. According to police sources, she was unable to seek assistance for Premoday Khakha’s sexual abuse because of the pain of both the attacks and the loss of her father.

The instances involving the child were recently brought to light when she discussed them with a counselor at a Delhi hospital where she was receiving care for yet another fit of fear. Her mother took her to the hospital on the spot.

In order to help the child heal from the many sexual assaults she suffered at the hands of her father’s ‘friend’—a person she referred to as’mama’ (uncle)—she has been getting continuing counseling.

According to police sources, Khakha, who was detained after being removed from his position with the Delhi government’s Women and Child Development Department, is not cooperating with the authorities. He vehemently refutes the accusations and insists they are wholly false.

Along with Khakha, his wife Seema Khakha was also taken into custody by the Delhi Police. Following her pregnancy, she reportedly ordered their 21-year-old son to buy the teen abortion pills. The small girl had asked Khakha’s wife for assistance.

Following condemnation from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the governing Aam Aadmi Party, Khakha’s suspension and detention were made public. They lambasted the national government headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Delhi Police for their inaction in prosecuting him.
