Rahul Gandhi says the PM need to address China’s new blueprint

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, called the problem of China’s new map, which includes Arunachal Pradesh, “very serious” on Wednesday and asked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi address it.

He was speaking with the media at the airport as he traveled to Mandya, Karnataka, to introduce the party’s Gruha Lakshami program. “I’m from Ladakh, and according to our prime minister, not even an inch of our land has been seized. It is untrue,” he said.

The previous head of Congress said that “China has usurped our land,” and everyone agreed with him.

The Congress politician said, “The issue of map is a very serious topic, as they have intruded on our land, and the Prime Minister should speak on that as well,” in response to a question regarding China’s new map that includes Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin.

His comments came the day after China unveiled what it dubbed the “2023 edition of the standard map of China” on August 28, which might trigger yet another diplomatic incident, according to sources citing local Chinese media. This map included Aksai Chin and the whole of Arunachal Pradesh inside its borders.

According to them, the map was made public by China’s ministry of natural resources.

Four months have passed since Beijing stated in April that it will “standardize” the names of 11 locations in Arunachal Pradesh.

Additionally, the G20 conference in New Delhi, which Chinese president Xi Jinping is also anticipated to attend, is less than a fortnight away at the time the map was released.

The G20 meeting will occur between September 9 and September 10.

Arunachal Pradesh has “always been” and “always will be” a crucial component of India, according to official statements.

India strongly objected to China’s publishing of a so-called “standard map” on Tuesday that represented Indian territory as being under Chinese control.

Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the External Affairs ministry, said Tuesday that “we have now raised a strong complaint via diplomatic channels with the Chinese side on the so-called 2023 “standard map” of China that makes claims to Indian territory.

“These assertions are false, thus we reject them. Such actions from the Chinese side simply make it more difficult to settle the border dispute, the expert said.

New Delhi protested the move barely hours after External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar denounced the “standard map” China produced on August 28 that included areas of Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh as part of its jurisdiction.
