Rajasthan Assembly Elections: BJP Chief Nadda Meets With Kota-Based Party Office-Bearers

J P Nadda, the president of the BJP, came in Rajasthan on Wednesday to meet with party officials from the Kota division in front of the state Assembly elections on November 25.

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and members of the party’s Mahila Morcha met Nadda at the Kota airport. After leaving the airport, Nadda traveled to a hotel where he is now attending his first meeting with the party’s office holders from the Kota and Bundi districts.

The office holders from Baran and Jhalawar will meet with the BJP president during the second round of discussions.

BJP state coordinator The conference is attended by Arun Singh, C P Joshi, the head of the party’s state section, as well as regional MLAs and district presidents.

Discussions will be conducted over all 17 Assembly seats in the Hadoti area, which includes the Kota division, according to party sources. At the meeting, organizational issues will also be addressed.

Nadda would go to Kishangarh in Ajmer in the evening to meet with the local party office holders.

The 13 districts served by the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) include the four districts in the Kota division. The Centre has been contacted by the governing Congress party in Rajasthan to inquire about the ERCP’s status as a national initiative.

On Monday, Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, started a public awareness campaign on the subject in the Baran district.

Approximately two lakh hectares would benefit from the expansion of irrigation infrastructure as a result of the ambitious ERCP project, which will also aid 13 districts in eastern Rajasthan, including the Kota division, with their drinking water issues.

Additionally, this division includes Vasundhara Raje, a former chief minister and prominent BJP politician, and her Assembly district of Jhalrapatan (Jhalawar).

Regarding Raje’s involvement in the next elections, the BJP has not yet provided any clarification. One of the front-runners for the position of chief minister is Raje. But the BJP has made it plain that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party’s “lotus” emblem will serve as the party’s public faces in the next election.

Om Birla, speaker of the Lok Sabha, is a native of Kota. He represents the Kota-Bundi parliamentary district, whereas Dushyant Singh, Raje’s son, represents Jhalawar-Baran in the Lok Sabha.

Shanti Dhariwal (Kota), Pramod Jain Bhaya (Baran), and Ashok Chandna (Bundi), three ministers in the Ashok Gehlot-led state administration, are also from the Kota division.

The importance of Nadda’s visit can be seen in all these aspects.

Voting will take place for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly on November 25, and results will be announced on December 3.

The BJP has so far declared candidates for 41 seats as it attempts to unseat the Congress in the desert state. The Kota division has not yet had a candidate declared.

The division is regarded as a saffron stronghold, with the party holding 10 of the division’s 17 MLAs in addition to both of its MPs.
