Revanth Reddy: “Overseas Board to safeguard NRIs amid the uncertainty”

On Tuesday, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that his administration is going to implement a mechanism to protect the assets of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who relocate to the United States of America and to help their elderly parents by collecting a little charge.

Additionally, he said that the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Praja Bhavan would host the “Telangana Gulf and Other Overseas Board,” which will be established by the state government.

The chief minister said that his administration was closely examining the idea of establishing a distinct board for the welfare of foreign migrant laborers during a meeting hosted by the TPCC NRI Cell here. According to Revanth, V Sheshadri, the chief minister’s secretary, has six years of expertise managing foreign policy in the Prime Minister’s Office during the administrations of Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi. He said that under his capable direction, a policy paper had already been created via research on the policies put into place in the Philippines and Kerala.

Revanth said that the Philippines is putting into practice an efficient policy that registers employment, employees, and all other pertinent information while interacting with Gulf nations at the state level. He added that by September 17, a policy that maintains all information about migrant workers, helps and trains them, grants agents licenses, provides life insurance, and protects their assets will be put into effect. In order to handle the problems at various levels, he said, a senior IAS official would be chosen to lead the abroad board.

“I can resolve the difficulties at the state level. Nonetheless, national and international forums should be used to resolve concerns about Gulf laborers. The districts of Nizamabad and Karimnagar are the primary source of the migrants. As a result, we must speak out in Parliament and have a representation in Delhi. Therefore, I kindly ask that you forward Congress candidate T Jeevan Reddy from Nizamabad to the Lok Sabha, said Revanth.

The chief minister said that sometimes setbacks are the necessary stages towards success by using his own ascension to prominence as an example.

“I was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019 after losing the Assembly election in 2018.” After that, the central headquarters of the party nominated me as president of the TPCC, and I now serve as chief minister. Similarly, it seems to me that Jeevan Reddy would also end up as a Union minister,” Revanth said.
