Road Hatkoti-Paonta Sahib cleaned after collision

After being blocked to vehicles for 12 hours due to a coal tar-filled truck that toppled on the road close to Dochi hamlet, the Hatkoti-Paonta Sahib national highway (NH-707) is again open for traffic.

A tanker headed from Shimla to Tiuni capsized on Thursday night after the driver lost control of the truck close to Dochi village. The route was thus shut, which caused traffic to be disrupted. The collision resulted in minor injuries for the driver.

When district administration representatives arrived, they got right to clearing the road. To remove the tanker, three hydracranes were sent in right away. After the truck capsized, the workers also cleaned up the coal tar that had been strewn over the road.

The information was verified by Jubbal Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajiv Sankhyan, who also said that 12 hours after the event, the tanker had been removed and the road was open for traffic.
