New Delhi: On Thursday, a 27-year-old Ugandan lady was reportedly robbed, her clothing ripped, and she was left partially unconscious on the street in Chhatarpur Pahari, south Delhi. Police claimed that two individuals had been taken into custody.

At midnight, information concerning the woman’s injuries was reported to the police. The guy who called the police claimed to have heard a lady pleading for assistance as he and his relative were traveling by motorcycle to a wedding.

They promptly called the police after halting their car and seeing she was hurt and bleeding.

According to a senior police officer, the lady reported to the police that two males walking with dogs approached her from behind while she was strolling down the sidewalk on 100 Feet Road. She tried to keep her distance from the dog since she was afraid of them.

According to the officer, the two grabbed her from behind and dragged her against the wall. “After that, there was a struggle, and the attackers took her handbag, which included one silver ring and Rs 800. Ankit Chauhan, DCP (south), said that the assailants tore the woman’s clothes, hit her in the head with a stone, and then left the area after stealing her.

In light of her testimony, a case was filed under IPC sections 394 (voluntarily inflicting harm in committing robbery), 354 B (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with purpose to disrobe), and 34 (acts committed by many people in furtherance of a single objective).

Police analyzed the CCTV video throughout the investigation and, using information from the community, identified the culprits as Manoj (24), and Rinku Kashyap (26). They were apprehended from Satbari Village, according to the DCP.

“They both stole from the female victim because they were drug addicts. When they were captured, they were discovered to be quite drunk,” the DCP said.

Manoj worked as a laborer carrying cargo onto trucks. He is from Farukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was previously arrested at the Mehrauli police station under sections 107 and 151 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. According to the authorities, Kashyap is a driver on vans that carry cargo.
