Speaker Om Birla reported 132 percent productivity in the Special Session of the Lok Sabha

The four-sitting Special Session of Parliament, according to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, had a productivity rate of 132% overall.
On September 18, the 17th Lok Sabha’s Thirteenth Session got under way.
Speaker Birla said, “This session will be recorded as a historic one in Parliamentary history as the central legislature started its journey from a new building this session.” before adjourning the Lower House sine die.

He said that the session lasted about 31 hours and that the Lower House’s net output during the members’ extra meetings was 132%.

Birla went on to say that during the Special Session, one government Bill was presented and another was passed.

He reported to the House that the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’, or Constitution (128th Amendment) Bill, which was introduced on September 19, was discussed for 9 hours and 57 minutes. “The debate was attended by 60 Members in all, including 32 women. According to the constitution, the Bill was approved by a two-thirds vote, he stated.

Birla said that the debate, which was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spanned 75 years of legislative history beginning with Samvidhan Sabha, lasted 6 hours and 43 minutes. Up to 36 people took part in the conversation.

“On September 21, 2023, Rajnath Singh, the Union Minister for Defense, started a conversation on the accomplishments of our nation in space research, including Chandrayaan-3, India’s lunar landing mission. 87 people took part in the conversation, which lasted 12 hours and 25 minutes, he said.

The Speaker further informed the House that a report was given by the Lok Sabha’s department-related Standing Committees during this session, and that on September 20, 2023, a statement was also delivered in accordance with Direction 73A.

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha told the members that up to 120 documents had been placed on the table of the House.
