Teachers on varsity oppose “bias” in appointments

The Teachers’ Association of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUTA), Murthal, protested today against the administration of the university, accusing them of being biased and placing their relatives in leadership roles by removing the current deans and instructors.

Interestingly, today’s administration building was devoid of university representatives. Members of the organization have alleged that teachers in various positions are being pre-hired in order to make room for the families of administration officials.

The organization conducted a protest after gathering in the administrative block under the leadership of President Surender Dahiya. Slogans criticizing the government were chanted throughout the protest, but the authorities ignored their requests.

The members claim that while the management of the institution speaks idealistically, its deeds speak loudly against such words.

In a recent event, Professor Vijay Sharma, the head warden of the boys’ dormitory, was relieved of his duties in advance. Even though he did a good job, the administration took him out early so they could take care of their family.

One participant said that the management of the institution was only interested in selecting their friends and relatives for different positions, with no regard for the welfare of the students or the advancement of the university. To protect the interests of the institution and its students, the protestors said they would go on tomorrow as well.
