Telangana: Countless people witness Lord Rama’s coronation at Bhadrachalam

On Friday, in Bhadrachalam’s Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple, the coronation ritual (pattabhisekham) of Lord Rama was held in style at Midhila Stadium. Witnessing the event were thousands of enthusiasts from all around the nation.

Chanting of Vedic mantras accompanied the transfer of the gods from the main temple to the stadium. To commemorate the event, Lord Rama was decked out in jewels such as a sword, a pearl necklace, a golden parasol, and a golden “padukalu.” Lord Anjaneya also wore jewels. Before the event, special pujas were held at the main temple.

On behalf of the state government, Governor CK Radha Krishnan attended the event and gave the presiding deity silk clothing.

But even with the joyous environment, the devotees had difficulties due to the high heat. The Kalyanamandapam was more than a km away, and the few battery-operated cars that were available were not enough to accommodate the vast number of people. Common followers were said to lack proper means of transportation to the event, in contrast to authorities and VIPs who had easy access to cars.
