The “Basti plan” has to be carried out: Ronald A. Rose

Hyderabad: All GHMC personnel have been directed by Commissioner Ronald Rose to carry out the weekly action plan in all basti areas in order to guarantee 100% door-to-door collection of MSW (municipal solid waste) and the removal of Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) that include members of self-help Help Groups (SHGs).

The following tasks will be included in the comprehensive weekly action plan: Day 1: Basti meeting; Day 2: Households not linked to SAT cars are identified; Day 3: Hold a rally across all basti regions; Day 7: Pledge and Resolutions (Weekend program); Day 6: Town Vending Committee Meeting (TVC); Day 5: Rangoli; and Day 4: Motivational presentation.

The weekly Basti Action Plan’s primary goals are to eliminate garbage-vulnerable points and collect MSW 100% door-to-door. As part of this, SHGs, SAT Auto drivers, and SLF Members have participated in about 1,785 meetings that have been held in all basti locations to far. Additionally, out of the 1,57,123 households that exist across the basti regions, 1,98,893 households have been linked or tagged to SATs for trash collection, filling in some of the main gaps in garbage collection that have been found in slum areas.

Additionally, 1,357 motivational programs and 1,214 rallies with 6,409 participants have been held. In addition, 3,145 individuals participated in 1,347 Rangoli programs, and 363 Town Vending Committee Meetings were held for families not affiliated with or tagged with SATs. As a result, 1,785 awareness workshops on the eradication of GVPs were held, and the SHG personnel were thanked for their dedication to this cause.
