The esteemed Royal Society of Chemistry will award Professor Savita Ladage with a prize

The London-based Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has chosen Professor Savita Ladage of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), an independent organization connected to the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, to receive its Nyholm Prize for Education in honor of her contributions to the advancement of chemistry education.

Ladage, a Mumbai resident, will get recognition for her services to the field of chemical education, which include mentoring other chemical educators and starting successful teacher and student initiatives to advance chemical education in India.

Ladage is well-known for her commitment to teaching and understanding chemistry, especially at the undergraduate level, according to a news release from HBCSE on Wednesday. Her approach to teaching chemistry in the lab entails collaborating with instructors and students while placing a strong emphasis on meticulous and critical observation. According to the statement, her goal is to change how people see chemistry lab teaching and improve students’ comprehension of the steps, challenges, and mistakes that come with doing experiments.

In addition, Ladage will get a diploma, a medal, and a £5,000 reward for her exceptional performance.

“I feel deeply honored to receive this prize and recognition in the community of individuals who are doing work in the area of chemistry education,” she said, according to the announcement. I’m even more inspired to keep working with more fervor and excitement now that I’ve received this honor and recognition. In general, I have a strong enthusiasm for chemistry education.

The RSC’s chief executive, Helen Pain, praised Ladage for her “outstanding commitment” to chemistry education, highlighting the subject’s critical role in influencing the future and equipping students to take on social and environmental concerns.

The purpose of the RSC’s Excellence in Education Prizes is to honor and recognize people in elementary, secondary, further, and higher education who are inventive, inspiring, and committed to their work. These awards include a wide variety of competencies, including curriculum creation, successful teaching, personal growth, and workplace culture, according to a statement from Pain.

Established in 1841 and with its headquarters located in London, UK, RSC is a global organization that links chemical experts across borders.
