The greatest method to deflect attention is to attack Rahul Gandhi, says Sachin Pilot

During his busy election campaign in Kerala, Congress leader Sachin Pilot traveled to Kannur, Malappuram, Alathur, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode. Pilot had a brief conversation with Cynthia Chandran of TNIE while making a layover at the state capital.

Personal relationships and mutual respect are not what characterize a political philosophy. However, the chief minister and those close to him in the administration have made some extremely severe accusations, and they have not provided any reasonable explanations or answers. I get the feeling there’s something to conceal from that. Which means that the greatest way to deflect attention is to attack Rahul Gandhi.

Do you believe that polarization will result from PM Modi’s hate speech in Rajasthan?

Elections need to be contested around matters of policy, unemployment, farmers’ concerns, and governance. The BJP leadership has shown despair in several of its statements. Our unemployment rate is at an all-time high, our inflation problem is out of control, our educated youth are searching for a better future, and our farmers are struggling. The government is responsible for all of these problems. That’s the reason the prime minister and other politicians are making a clear effort to start talking about mandirs, masjids, Hindus, Muslims, etc.

What prospects does the Congress have in Rajasthan?

More seats will be won by the Congress than by the BJP. This election is about change, and I have been across Rajasthan. People are more favorable toward our candidates and political philosophy because it emphasizes responsibility, openness, and defending established institutions and the Constitution. Vaibhav Gehlot, Gehlot’s son, is running for office and is expected to win. Gehlot has canvassed across the state.

There is a strong Congress party presence across the whole nation. Many elections have been lost by us. However, it does not imply that the employees of Congress have vanished. The only political group that can challenge the BJP on a national scale is still the Congress. While each regional party has a function to perform and contributions to provide, the Congress plays a crucial role in national elections. The India alliance becomes stronger in tandem with Congress’s strength.

There might be pressure on certain individuals. The ultimate arbiter of those leaders’ choice to cross over will be the Indian people. We’ll find out in time. However, individuals cast their votes based on the party and their ideas, and the Congress displays the rich and varied 5,000-year cultural heritage. Not that there isn’t room for other parties. Obviously, they have room.
