The Indian bloc wants fair play and the release of leaders who have been detained

NEW DELHI: Leaders of the ‘INDIA’ bloc united at the ‘loktantra bachao’ (save democracy) rally here on Sunday, denouncing the NDA government as “dictatorial” and “misusing” the ED and other central agencies to “rig” the Lok Sabha elections by locking up its opponents and sealing party bank accounts.
Nearly all of the “India” parties were present at the Ramlila Maidan rally, which was held in the wake of Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and in light of tensions over alliance seat-sharing in some states.

Leaders there called for the immediate release of Hemant Soren, the former chief minister of Jharkhand, and Delhi, as well as a “level playing field” for the upcoming elections and a SIT investigation overseen by the Supreme Court into the BJP’s “extortion” of voters through electoral bonds.

Congressman Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi was attempting to “snatch Constitution from poor” by “match-fixing along with three-four billionaires.” “Who picked umpires for polls?” he asked? Modi Narendra selected the umpires.”

Two of our players, Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal, were taken into custody and placed inside before to the start of the match (LS polls). These elections—what type are they? Leaders are intimidated and detained, and governments are overthrown via financial might,” Rahul said.
“Congress is the biggest opposition party and all its accounts have been frozen at a time when it has to run a campaign and send leaders to states,” he said, emphasising the situation of his own party.

After reading the Congress demand charter, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “EC must stop coercive action by I-T department, ED and CBI to financially strangulate opposition parties and manipulate elections.”
The whole Gandhi family, including Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka, as well as party president Malikarjun Kharge and other prominent figures, represented the Congress. Sharad Pawar of the NCP, Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Derek O’Brien of the Trinamool Congress, Akhilesh Yadav (SP), Farooq Abdullah of the J&K National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti of the PDP, Tejaswi Yadav of the RJD,

Champai Soren of Jharkhand and Bhangwant Mann (AAP) of Punjab were among the other participants. There were also prominent members of the left, including Dipankar Bhattacharya, D. Raja, and Sitaram Yechury. Derek O’Brien and Tiruchi Siva, respectively, represented West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.

According to O’Brien, “We were and still are a part of India.” Importantly, this suggests that TMC’s choice to become independent in West Bengal did not signal the party’s break from the block. He also emphasised that Kejriwal and Soren had two vacant seats reserved on the dais, and he added that they were there in spirit, supporting the members of the India bloc.

Sunita, Kerjiwal’s wife, had a significant appearance. She was seated in the first row with Sonia Gandhi—who seldom attends public events—and Kalpana, Soren’s wife, who has been making more of an appearance in public since her husband’s incarceration. Sunita read out a statement from Kejriwal, while Kalpana made a combative speech. There were also the wives of two other prominent AAP members who had been imprisoned: RS member Sanjay Singh and former minister Satyender Jain.

Farooq Abdullah, the head of the National Conference, said, “Our goal is to protect the Constitution from harm.”
Sharad Pawar of the NCP also criticised Kejriwal and Soren’s incarceration and pledged support for the bloc members against the BJP.
“Despite the undemocratic roadblocks created by the BJP regime, the India alliance is determined and confident to fight, win, and save our democracy,” Priyanka said on behalf of the alliance.
